dishing on gfork

Last night on the plane ride from LA back to SF I sat next to gentleman who, I found out, will be working off and on for the next few weeks in San Francisco right down the street from my office.  Naturally, the conversation steered to food.  “Where are the best places to eat in San Francisco?” I drew a blank.  After spending the weekend in LA, eating Tito’s tacos, Tommy burgers, Johnnie’s pastrami, and homemade pancakes, my mind was not in San Francisco.  I thought, I pondered.  Slowly, my favorite restaurants were coming to mind as we flew over Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, Big Sur, Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Jose, finally landing in San Francisco…
