so good it’s bad

Last night we went to Koo to indulge our deepest sushi desires once again. Sublime as usual, Suzuki-san plied us with screamingly fresh sashimi, including my Spoonfuls and lots of my favorite Otokoyama sake. At the end of the evening, in my giddily dreamlike sake-induced haze, we paid the bill and left. It wasn’t until this morning that I looked at the receipt and realized to my absolute horror, not the cost of the meal (which I was prepared for and not surprised at) but that I had shortchanged their tip-by a lot. Luckily, they know me (somewhat) there thus hopefully I’ll be forgiven but definitely need to go back tonight and give them their due. How embarrassing. Bad sake. Bad.
