my big, fat Tuesday

Today is Fat Tuesday which reminded me of the foods I most cherish and would gorge on if I had to give it up for Lent (if I were Catholic), which got me to thinking what food would I want to be my last meal? And who with?

  • Two 2 lb tails of Maine lobster
  • 1 lb leg of Alaskan king crab
  • Lots of drawn butter
  • A side of pan fried Brussels sprouts with candied pecans
  • A bottle of Montrachet

Selfishly (or should I say, “shellfishly”), I’d like it to be a table for one. Not that I don’t want to share, but I don’t think I could bear to eat with family and friends if I knew it would be my last meal.

I didn’t get the baby in the King Cake at work. I’ll have to wait til next year to be the King. Or Queen.
