bad service, good food

There is a small cafe near my office that I frequent only because it’s convenient and they serve fairly decent sandwiches at resonable prices. But the service sucks. The women who work behind the counter are either snarling, yawning or staring out into the coffee hinterland (the cafe is also a “roastery”) and with nary a, “thank you” to be heard, their tip jar remains empty.

Is it oxymoronic to be writing this whilst sitting in said cafe? The turkey foccacia sandwich was mighty tasty today. And they do play good music over the stereo. Ornette Coleman playing in the background, a satiated appetite, and in the midst of one of my favorite past times – writing. Maybe this place doesn’t deserve the bad blog.
